Hi again and thanks for comments.

If you guys are really into bugs and flower photography, you might want to check out the book John Shaw's Closeups In Nature. Photography is a passion of mine and it is one of the factors that spurred my interest in orchids!! It is actualy quite a challenge trying to capture close ups of insects, flowers, leaves etc. in nature but the satisfaction and pleasure of being able to produce a good shot is really indescribable!!!!

    cheers

Thanks for sharing the photos, guys!! I love seeing them even if my camera isn't able to do it (well, errr, it could be the photographer... lol).

    Cheers,

I will! I love close-up shots because often times you catch things your eye normally can't or won't see.

I totally agree...Sometimes I will take a shot and not think it turned out that great until I pull it up on the pc and I am like...wow that's amazing! Or visa versa. I hope the weather is better tomorrow morning because I find morning sunlight makes for really good photography.

LOL...happy to share BD...maybe we will inspire you to take some pics of your own to share!

I bought a DSLR (nikon d90) and I'm gaining experience using these cameras... My dream lens is the Sigma 150mm f/2.8 DG HSM Macro... It focuses MUCH faster that the 105mm one and is built more robust... Surely the Micro nikkor 105mm VR is superior in terms of built/image quality but we're splitting hairs here.. AND the sigma costs 200$ less!...

I researched the nikkor 105mm when I was looking for a macro lense and kept coming across rave reviews for the Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 Di...so I got that instead...its been a wonderful lense! Most of the nikon lenses are just too far out of my price range...but they are nice!

Yes I agree its a wonderful lens for photographing flowers (and faces... The focal length is nearer to a portrait lens)...
I really don't know why these nikkors are so expensive... Sigma makes the 10-20 HSM and sells it for 400 but the newly announced nikkor 10-24 costs twice!...
