    Arrow Film Photo Effect

    Today's we are going to learn how to create a Film Photo Effect.

    Step 1: First open an image.



    Step 2: In the Layers palette, click on the New Fill or Adjustment Layer button and select Curves.



    Step 3: In the Curves tool select 'Green' in the drop down menu.
    Then, move the two points to the middle left and middle right as shown in the image below.



    Step 4: Now select 'Blue' from drop down menu and position the curve like the image below.



    Step 5: Select Curves Adjustment layer and set the blending mode to 'Overlay'.



    result:



    Step 6: In the final step click on New Fill or Adjustment Layer button and select Brightness/Contrast. Apply the following setting:



    Step 7: Select Brightness/Contrast and set Blending to Color.

    Final result:

    Old time photographers sigh for the days when they could choose a film emulsion to suit the subject - in Fuji it was Astia ( soft , almost pastel colours) Velvia - the nature photgraphers favourite, or Provia - the landscapists choice.
    But the latest Fuji digital cameras have an extra programme option so that you can record a "normal" digital image, or record one simulating any one of these three film emulsions - or even all three, one after the other.....
    Much easier than going into Photoshop and curves , I find !

    Wow, easiest way to get this effect in Photoshop. I'm glad I read this or I would have been fiddling with settings forever trying to get it *just* right. Thanks
