I'm really excited for you too Shann, with your passion for photography and your great artistic and technical skill, I can't imagine what the pics will look like with these new features. We'll be just asking for more. Lol
LOL...I can't wait to share more pics...the weather has been really bad lately but hopefully something new in the next week.

If the new 80-200 is anything like the old 80-200 f 2.8 then it should be a cracker of a lens.
Very has a built in tripod mount which is very useful. I need to take a pic of the

I know nothing about photography, but judging from how excited you are im really happy for you. And it seems you made a good decision to buy those lenses.... anyways post photos taken with those new lenses when they arrived.
    I will...thanks!!!

Shanna, I share your excitement over getting a new lens. The 80-200 f2.8 is definitely on my wish-list, so is a new Nikon body. A the moment I have a cheap AFNikkor 75-240 f4.5-5.6D lens, Nikkor 50mm 1.4 manual focus lens retained from my days with the Nikon F3HP, a manual 90mm f2.3 Tamron macro lens, a 24mm f2.8 Sigma. I've parted with most of my ma.

nual Nikkor lenses but could never make myself part with the 50mm 1.4.

However, now 90% of my photos are taken with the 18-70mm, f3.5-4.5G lens that came as a kit lens with my dinosaur D70. It is a top-notch lens and stays almost permanently on the D70. When camera club members ask me why I just reply ' To prevent dust getting onto the sensor ' without having to admit I can't afford another lens. Moreover getting more orchids and extending the lathe house which is getting rather crowded.
I have a tamron 90mm too! It is a great lens. The 18-70 kit lens isn't bad if you have good lighting...your photos are proof of that. Great pictures...especially the water moving!! I always try to have lenses with a fixed aperture no bigger than f/2.8 if possible. That 50mm 1.4 must be amazing for low light!! If you ever get an 80-200mm you will love it!

It's not dinosaur! I still use D70 (with 18-200 VR lens) when we are on vacation and need two cameras.
