Talking Microscope pictures of very small orchids

The microscope arrived today and with very little practice I was able to get a few pictures of a couple of my smallest orchid flowers. I started with a Cadetia Taylorii flower and in the second post will be pictures of an Acampe flower.
First, the colors of the Cadetia came out relatively normal. I discovered there are fuzzy little things at the back of the flower i'd never been able to see before. The limitation of this microscope comes in with an object that is not flat. The image blurs out at the edges, due to magnification. Also, when I slid the Acampe flower under, the color suddenly did not match what my eyes see. I'm not sure why some things look different, oddly plant leaves came out looking white under magnification, while to my eyes they are green. I'll keep working on getting good pics. For now, here are my first efforts...

Quite neat ... looks like a fun "toy".

The problem your having exists whenever one is using a lens and is more problematic the smaller the object. Photographers refer to it as "depth of field".

Depth of field...that sounds right. And yes it is a fun toy...I even looked in my own ear! Skin definitely looks weird under this as well...and yes i'm still a big kid.
