Default Not able to up load photos ?

I have always used my photoshop program to min. the size of the photo to less than 700 x 700. I created a separate file with RVO photos. Then I would up load from that file into my new post. For some reason the little wheel is spinning but the upload isn't happening. Remember I'm old school, please try to keep it simple. lol Thanks, Rich

No worries, Rich. Why not try the basic uploader. When you click on the paper clip icon (manage attachments) you will get the new image attachment pop-up. In this pop-up window you will see on the top right a button that says 'Add Files'

Click that button once and a small window opens. At the base of the small window on the right are the words "Basic Uploader" This will give you a single browse window at a time to upload your photograph. If you have more than one photo, you can hit the plus mark and add an additional field. Uploading one image at a time might be quicker for your connection.

If your file is too large, the system will give you a notice.

Give it another try and let me know how it goes. I will attach a large 700x700 image to this post as a test.

    Cheers,
    BD

Bruce, I don't know what is going on at this end ? I tried after re-booting my system. There is a black wheel that just spins just to the left of the ? mark inside a blue circle. I tried a photo 600 x 450 and a photo that was 700 x 525 the wheel was spinning for over 6 mins. still won't download. What are the files that are already their? I have 24 files that are already listed ? Can these be deleted ? I tried, I'm not sure where they came from. I'm sure they are photos that I have posted in older postings. Sorry to be a pain ! Rich

Those are other files you have posted on the site. The new system allows you to post a previous photo in an additional place instead of just a link all without taking up any additional space on the server.

Let me see if I can help solve this problem:

What browser are you using, Rich? (Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, etc...)

What is the version number of the browser? (IE 8, IE 6, Firefox 3.6, etc...)

What is your operating system? (Window's XP, Windows Me, Apple, etc...)

How do you connect to the internet? (DSL, Cable, Dial-up, etc..)

And finally, if you are not getting a 'Can't resize this image' error' with a red exclamation point icon, your image isn't too large to upload or it is so large that it is well over the limit. It may be a problem with your connection or operating system.

One final thought: I know you restarted your system, but, if it is not working using one internet browser, did you try a different one?

I will do my best to create a video that shows the attachment process more clearly. I am so sorry you are having difficulty. I look forward to seeing what you are trying to post.

    Cheers,
    BD

Bruce, Internet explorer, 9 beta ? , Windows VISTA home basic, Cable. As I said I'm not a big fan of change. It seams everytime that there is a update on my system. Windows wants to install a new tool bar. I personnelly don't like BING. I also have a AVG 2011 on my system. I don't know if that matters. I think I might go back a few weeks a pick out a old Restore Point date. I have been having issues the last few weeks being slower than normal. What do you think ? I just tried again posting a photo., nothing. Thanks, Rich

Rich, I suspect it might be Internet 9 (Beta). I have not installed it yet since it is a beta version. If your entire system is experiencing problems, perhaps restoring to an earlier time would do the trick. Before going to that length, please consider doing the following and seeing if this helps:

    1. Visit FireFox and download the latest version of their browser
    2. Create a restore point on your Window Vista machine. Name the restore point before Firefox (or anything you like). This will allow you to go right back to where you are before you install firefox. I know you don't like change, but I do think you will like Firefox because of its security and ease of use.
    3. Install the firefox browser. (During install it will ask if you want it to be your default browser, you can say no for now and change that at a later time if you decide you like it and it works for you.) It will also ask if you want to import your bookmarks (favorite pages) from Internet Explorer. Say yes to make it easy to find the pages you commonly visit and have saved links to. Otherwise, say no.
    4. After install of Firefox is complete, restart your computer. (not necessary, but since you have AVG it is probably a good idea to make sure everything is in the registry correctly. AVG will probably ask if you want to allow Firefox to access the internet, just allow.
    5. Visit the forum and login. Then visit this thread and try to post a photo.

That should do it, if it is a browser issue. Plus, Firefox doesn't use Bing it uses Google and I have to agree, I like Google better too.

Let me know if this helps.

EDIT: For anyone else reading this post. See Video 3 (I did it fast and it is not the best work, but it should help show the new system until I can get a better video made)

    Cheers,
    BD

Bruce, FYI I did do a restore point that did take care of this issue. I will be posting a little later, with a photo. I'm just worried about any new up dates, re-installing that junk again. Which it shows updates are available. I guess when I have time, I'll have to try FireFox. But I really hate changes with computers. lol Thank You for all you do here Bruce !! I do have a job interview with a very good company tomarrow ! And it is in my field of expertise. It has been really tough since I moved to Florida. That is why I haven't been able to add to the collection for a long time. Thanks Again, Rich

I am glad the restore helped. Best of everything with the job interview tomorrow.
