Well, we bought the software license for another year. And we have downloaded the newest version of the forum software. We will be closing down the forum for the upgrade. I am not sure how long the upgrade will take, but we hope to start it fairly soon. I recommend saving your PMs if you have information you want to keep. Everything should be fine, but better safe than sorry.

We are doing a complete backup of the threads/ content.

Some of the new features you can look forward to are:

Multi-Quote: Meaning you will be able to select multiple posts within a thread or between threads and post a reply with everyone quoted in one message. (I know this will be handy!)

Also, we are going to go to thumbnail images so that you do not have to download images you have already seen several times just to reply. This will speed things up for folks still using dial up and for the rest of us too!

There are a few other cool features that will become apparent as soon as we are back up, but if we don't get to work, it will not all get done tonight.

When we close, if you try to visit the forum, you will see a temporary message saying we will be back up shortly.

If you cannot live without the folks here for a couple of hours, why not download CASMIRA. You can chat in 3D in there and ...shhhh, there are no moderators to bug you. Give it a try. It is cool just to explore, but when there are a few people there it can be a real blast.

Okay, it is 1:30 am central time and we have made the software updates. The multi-quote function is now working. We did not get to finish the updates we wanted to do tonight. We will continue working on them in a few days. The thumbnail images program was buggy so we decided not to do it at this time. More tomorrow....

We still have some bugs to work out. I noticed that if I click on the triangle on the home page after the last post (link to go to last post in a thread), it doesn't work, but it works from within the 'new posts' page and inside the main forum.

There are two more large updates we have to install. This will change the information in the Quick Links dropdown. It will give a few more options and ways of sorting information.

Thank you. Are you getting an error message? We fixed the "go to last post" on the VBadvanced page last night, it took a little work to figure it out, but it now works like a charm.

The extra ">" must have been stuck in the forum template during a copy and past update after reverting the altered templates for the style and mods. Thanks for letting me know.
