NEW UPLOADER ON-LINE!!
We finally got the new uploader on-line. Hopefully everything should be much better this time. We installed software that will allow users to upload their files, see them and add comments for them (name of plant, etc.). So, give it a try. For those of you who uploaded photos, feel free to resubmit if you think it did not go through or if you want all of your submissions in one album. It is a very cool program. I hope you enjoy it and I thank everyone for his or her patience and support.
Let the submissions begin!
Cheers!

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

Hi Bruce,
I tried the new system but it looks like it still has problem. After registering for an account, the confirmation email seems to have never arrived? I tried registering twice since last night. Same thing happened. As a result, I could not activate the account for the picture submission. Could you please take a look at this? Thanks. Hoa.

Thanks Hoa! If anyone else has trouble, check your email Spam folder. The upload gallery sends an automatic email when a person registers. Many email systems now block automatic messages or filter them into the Spam folder.
Cheers!

I have just added an example of the Contributing Artists page on the Hard Steam website. Check it out when you have a chance.

Thanks Valerie.
At this time, I am really hoping for named plants. I know it seems a bit snobbish, but it would make the layout and indexing a heck of a lot easier. So, for now, I would have to say only plants with names will be chosen. But feel free to submit any orchid photo you wish. My 'theme' is the way we see our orchids. ( Orchids Through Our Eyes) I really hope to have lots of different types of orchids and ways of seeing them. For the record, I have some beautiful NoIDs, but not sure how to make them a part of the book.
I am also seeking short poems or musings about these plants that consume so much of our time.
Cheers!

Just put them on a disk and drop in the snail-mail. No worries. I can upload them to a gallery for you.
Cheers!

bump...
~ Shameless bump ~ attention all photographers & writers....
Hey, by the way, if you have refereed the HSP site to any friends using the "email this page" on the home page of the site, your message may not have gone through correctly. The mail script was disabled at the server level since the user was not 'authenticated'- no one told me that was going to happen. Apparently this is a way hosting servers keep spammers from using email functions on different sites to send junk to everyone. So, we are in the process of redoing the "email this page" function. If you want to refer a friend to the Hard Steam Site, just send the following URL in an email: www.hard-steam.com That will get them to the site.
Thanks again to those of you who have submitted to the site. I am so impressed with the photography!
Okay, end shameless bump. (until next time...hehehehe)
Cheers!
