I bought this as Ascda John De Biase 'Blue' a while ago and this is its first flowering. From the pics of JDB, I don't think the label is correct. I don't know now if its a seedlng or a M/clone. The color is difficult to capture, its more to the purple on the outer edges of the segments.
Any ideas on name accepted.

I agree, striking color, but not sure on the name. I like how subtle the tessilations are in the blooms.
Cheers,

The color of this flower is a lovely blue to the eye, I'm not sure if I can capture that color with a digital camera. I'll take some film camera shots of it and see what happens, generally better with some colors.
I still haven't come up with a clonal name but with help, I think it could be Ascda John De Biase "Tanzanite". there is a pic of it on a website catalog. Its not a great pic but it does show the spotting and tessellations in the same places as this one does and also the barring around the column. Maybe it is, maybe not but one Vanda grower replying suggests it is a JDB.
I know what is Roy. It's "one I will send to my new best friend on the Sunshine Coast".
I'm surprised you didn't know that!
