Your Starrlyn reminds me of Ctna Why Not.I'm guessing it has some Broughtonia in its parentage?
That is a huge flower for the plant size on the Haadyai. Nice color too. Unfortunate that the flowers are so short-lived

Both these cattelyas are smallish plants; their height between 5-6 inches and their similarity ends there. The Guaricattonia Starrlyn is bifoliate and Rlc Haadyai Deliht is unifoliate. The flower of Starrlyn measures about 2 in while Haadyai Delight is 5 in. The spike of Starrlyn is about a foot long and the flowers last for about a month, while Haadyai Delight lasts 2 weeks max.

Yes Pavel, Starrlyn certainly has broughtonia. Here is the parentage
Guaricattonia(Gct) Starrlyn= Ctna Capri x Guaritonia(Grt) Why Not. It is quite a complex cross with Bro sanguinea recurring many times in its parentage.
By the way Ctna Why Not ( Brosanguinea x C aurantica ) is now Guaritonia(Grt) Why Not because C aurantica together with bowringiana and skinneri have now been reclassified as Guarianthe.
My Starrlyn is the 'Butterfly' cultivar.
Haadyai Delight will last 3 weeks if kept away from the rain and under cooler conditions.
A perfect couple to group! Lovely blooms Yew.
Cheers,

*sigh* The name changes are aggravating. I'll leave it to others to keep track until the "dust settles"![]()
