This is a miniature dendrobium, with flattish pseudobulb 1 - 3ins tall. It blooms several times a year with with very short spike bearing up to 5 flowers. Each flower measures 1/2 inch ( 1.4 cm) and is cream-coloured with yellow-orange throat. It blooms on old, leafless pseudobulbs as well as the newer pseudobulbs. Blooms last about a week.

It is a very common plant in the Peninsula, Borneo and Sumatra - from the lowlands to 1000m. This particular plant was collected in Baling by a commercial collector and I bought it for RM10 a year ago. It has already flowered 3 times since then.
It is a very variable species and the lip varies from green to orange.
So delicate in color. I love the little blooms on this dendrobium orchid. I wish I had one too.
Cheers,

Lovely and wonderful rounded form. Heavy substance in a small bloom. I like these very much Yew. AL
I like the color of this clone.
Aww this is sooo super cute!! I want one.![]()
Thanks everyone for looking in and for your nice comments. Yes, I like this little mini - it kind of grows on you. I wasn't impressed when I first bought it because it was looking really pathetic as it had just been collected and the flowers were all shrivelled up, but this third blooming is really very impressive. As Al has commented, the flowers have very good substance.
Wow! yours is very nice. Like the orange color. Never seen this color before. Mine is the common pale green though very floriferous. Thanks for sharing Yew.
