One of my first vandas I got years ago, it stayed by me with all my mistakes in learning to grow vandas, very forgiving, almost 6' tall, but blooms only once a year, has 2 keikei's growing halfway up ,don't know if I should remove them would be nice to let them on and get a nice massive plant, will take some staking. Other photo is one of my personal favorites, not as flashy but I like the subdued color, Vanda Hall Of Fame ' Peaches and Cream'(V.Mevr.L.Velthuis X V. Thananchaisand).

The first is showy, but I like the subtly of the second better. nice growing!
South Florida should be great for these semi-teretes. Semi-teretes were once my favourite vandas as they are hardy and, very forgiving of our cultural neglect and always providing us with great showy blooms. Both these blooms are beautiful!
Hi Ed nice pictures! What a luxury that you can grow the vandas outside. You bring them in in winter ?
Regarding your question about the keiki's I have the same question I have some rather large Aerides' with keiki's and do not know whether or not to remove them.
Any tips from other members?

Thanks Yew and I agree I wish some of my strap leaved vandas had been more agreeable when I first started growing them.

Thanks Phimax they stay outside until we get a chill in the low 50's, then I move them to my patio which is screened in on 2 sides which I cover with plastic. I would also be interested in what others think about removing keiki's.
That is gigantic vanda with magnificent color both are very beautiful here in Malaysia I saw some of them even taller than yours at one point they will make top cutting to allow keiki developed at the bottom.
Very beautiful...the reason I like taib is its sun tolerance coupled with its blooms...not often u see full shaped vandaceous that could take sun and have that rich colour...wen I think sun I see jvb hybrids which are nice but I've seen it a lot over the years for garden specimens...good growing..I would wait for d keikis to have a few roots or even to bloom then snip snip lol

That Velthius hybrid is pretty. I've always liked the flat, rounded shape of the Velthius hybrids, and the subtle colors on many of them.
