    Default Sc. Seagull's Crawfish Pie

This is grown in a south facing window, in my dining room which gets cooler than the rest of the house. The flower is 2 inches tall and 2 1/2 inches wide.

Lovely little thing - pumila x brevipedunculata. It looks more delicate than the very similar hybrid Orpetii (pumila x coccinea).

Interesting choice to label it Sc. I can see where that would come from, but it was Sl. when it was registered, just C. now, and may have been S. along the way.

You will probably not be too surprised to learn that this is the only registered orchid hybrid with crawfish in the name.
