How interesting. I have never thought much about insects preferences for different colours, although a few instances are known. For example the monarch (?) butterfly which polinates the big Disas in South Africa, sees red, but cannot see yellow. Now the Disa flowers are red, but it is a layer of red cells on top of yellow flowers. Sometimes a mutation leads to that top layer being missing, and georgeous yellow flowers are seen, but never pollinated in the wild, becuse they are not seen by the butterflies. So the yellow plants die out.
But blue flowers are quite rare in nature, so where is the evolutionary driver making them liked by insects, I wonder ?

I also no clue about it but here in tropical climate there are so many ornamental plants giving rise the blue colors, the carpenter bee is a good sign to pollinates most of the flowering orchids here example Aeridis odorata including all my vandas too and not good for me as the flowers will fade soon and I cannot enjoy it especially colorful vanda's. Here are few photos of carpenter bee.
