This is a hybrid between D.bracteosum - which has bunches of flowers carried on nodes at intervals on the canes, and laevifolium- which is very unusual in having very short stubby bulbs and a pair of largish leaves, then bunchs of amazing flowers - much like Hibiki, but probably larger in relation the plant, which can completely cover the surface of the pot.
You might almost say that laevifolium is wonderful, a pity it is not taller to spread the flowers out a bit - and what you are wishing for is Hibiki. What a clever hybridiser , whoever he was.

I have several plants, one was almost as good as this last year but with pale wishy washy pink flowers . Maybe it was the same plant, and the colour is better since I moved it into more light ?
I must hunt for the others, one I have seen, with pale pink flowers but not as many. The other is yet to find.

Looks as though this could be a lot better in the future when the larger canes produced in my culture get into flowering. Something to look forward to.
