This is the real McCoy ; I say that, because my records were confused and I think I have previously shown another species - sukhakuilii - and said that it was sarawakense. I have got my records straight now. But I am not sure if I have shown this true example before. Certainly this plant shows no old flower spike remains.
Seems to be attacked by a slug - time I did a general spray against these pests, which of course come in from the garden and love the humidity, not to mention the endless provision of delicious things to eat - usually flowers, but sometimes just a flower stem. Very annoying !
Flowers here about 2 cm across ( at the most). And everything else about them is unknown too ( by me).
What a curious little spur - nectary ?
flowers I have never seen before. Thank you.
Oh wow Geoff! I really love this flower. It reminds me of a pandoriferum which I had ordered once but two years later when it bloomed, it was definitely not a pandoriferum. Yours is such a cool looking flower! Enjoy!
I have only seen a few photos of this one, nicely done Geoff!
