I've had this cactus for a number of years and it is really free-flowering, blooming almost every month. the size and the colour of the flowers are truly amazing. The downside ......... the blooms last only a day.

Though it has no definite season for flowering it does have its heaviest blooming in the summer July - August. In the second picture there were altogether 17 blooms and they are not small either.Look at the picture with the tape measure to gauge the size of the flowers.I do hope some cactus fancier will help to identify it Next to the big plant is its flowering keiki. At the moment it has six other keikis on it.Apart from the keiki in the picture I have given away 2 others of similar size to friends.
Beautiful!
Great ! The small baby is ready for immediate shipping to me ! LOL . I have never seen cactii bloom every month ! You have to tell us your secret !
Short flower life seems to be the norm for cacti. At least yours blooms often! Beautiful flowers!
Amey, no secret.Only this one blooms so often. It bloomed with 7 flowers 2 weeks ago and I see another 4 buds, around an inch long at the moment.
