Very neat Ted. Great way for the Oncidiums. Did you start off with some spagnum moss, initially? I see you also have one hanger using wine corks. In your opinion, did both bases do the job.(i.e. wine corks: compressed cork). Besides the compressed cork crumbling, did it hold the water OK. Is this why there wasn't any S.M.?
I have put SM on some, left some, and put SM on later. Latey I have combed it out of the lawn and tied it on and will try to keep it alive. Some of the Onc need more moisture than othersand others don't mind being a bit dry as long they are misted daily. But overall I prefer the slab cork.
