    I can't tell you about the yellow spots, but yikes! - the roots showing on top of your catt look pretty bad to me - also suffering from rot, which may be a result of overwatering and not letting the plant dry out completely between waterings. Based on your photos, I would unpot it as well, cut off all the dead and rotten roots, and basically follow the advice pertaining to the Miltonia (sorry you lost that). How often do you water your orchids and what kind do you have? Your watering routine may be the problem here, but I'd wait to see responses from more experienced growers than I am.

    Looks like some kind of insect attack. Scale? I also noticed a VERY wet media. If this is a cattleya I cannot see the rhyzome, that is, the short horizontal structure that connects the pseudobulbs, it should NOT be covered by the media.

    Thanks for the advice Mauraec and jose I was watering my plants this morning thas why the media looks wet ,when I find those yellow spots, I use to water my plants every two weeks and that depends in the weather here in south california. JOSE I `m going to repot my catleya right now and follow your advice thank you.
