Had a long weekend at the New Jersey shore...nice time and great beach weather. I didn't use my camera much but did get up early, one morning to catch a sunrise over the ocean. Here are a few pics of that
and one last shot
Great Pictures! It looks chilly.

Great shots Ron. Those Laughing Gulls are quite rare on this side of the pond.
Beautiful!!! Great pictures!
Love the last shot, Ron. So peaceful.

I was on the beach as it just started to get a bit light. I walked a couple of miles, along the surf, as I waited for the sun to rise. It actually wasn't chilly at all. It was a warm muggy night...mid 70's and felt really warm once the sun got strong. (chilly for Southern Floridians, but not us Northerners, LOL) Water temp was about 72..cold to get in but nice once acclimated.
Steve good ID!...they are rare at New York beaches but were very common in Southern New Jersey. There call is quite amusing. It did not look like they spent the night on the beach but arrived just before the sun.
If you noted, there is a wooden roller coaster in one shot. one of 3 amusement parks on piers, along the board walk. The roller coaster was pretty good too! I rode it one night with my son. It was called the "Giant White" a bit different from any I have ridden before. Instead of climbing out of the station, this one does a downhill first, into an underground tunnel. very cool!
It was actually quite light at the time of the last pic but I exposed for the sun and not the surf which gave a very nice effect

very nice shots,
i just love sunsets or rises!
It was funny...I was walking back via a boardwalk stop for coffee and chatted with a woman on the boardwalk....she summed up many peoples opinion..."sunrises are over rated" LOL many people don't like getting up before the sun for the purpose of catching a sunrise. Well, I see many more sunsets than sunrises myself, if I can help it
Nice, Ron. Very peaceful pics.![]()
