Okay everyone, I cut back the leaves that were damaged by cold shock on my little Valentine's Phal, lightly dusted the cut with cinnamon, and cut the flower spike back... It's now got one leaf of a decent size that is green and healthy looking... I'm now getting ready to head out to pick up potting supplies so I can re-pot... I'm on a somewhat limited budget, and I'm looking at Better Gro Special Orchid Mix for the potting media, which is a mix of western fir bark, hardwood charcoal, and sponge rock...
As far as fertilizing goes, I'm seeing all kinds of products... there's Orchid Food by Miracle Gro, or Orchid Fertilizer by Better Gro, or Bloom Booster by Better Gro... and there's SuperThrive... I want to get the best products within my budget, what EXACTLY do I need (and in what order) to get this little Phal started down the road of growing healthy??
How is the root condition on this Phal perhaps just nurse the Phal using the sphagnum moss and bag technique to create more moisture and feed an water weekly place this Phal out of direct but strong bright light good luck
