The cattleyas will need lots of light to bloom, but your temps seem fine to me. Good luck and welcome.

30 years ago I had good luck with Cattleya orchids, dedicated room and local source. I got back into orchids with some phalaenopses which were in our local nursery. They are doing great; they are in a SE facing window with 2 60 watt "clip on" grow lights, in a humidity tray, with a warm mist humidifier. The only space I have available is our living room with SE and W facing windows. Do you think I could try the Catts, temps range from 72 day to 58 nite. If not Catts, any other suggestions? Thanks for any input you may have.

Thanks, Bruce. I have a (bad) feeling that my addiction will become larger and my living space will become cozier. So the biggest difference would be the increased light ?
