    Cool Orchid Emergency

I've got an orchidarium emergency. My daughter's science experiment is on the line lol. I had purchased a flask of ghost orchids many months ago that needed deflasking. I've never deflasked ghost orchids but I have deflasked many other orchids with no problems.

We deflasked the ghosties last weekend and put it in a tankorchidarium. We've put one of those radio shack thermometer/hygrometer thingies in there to keep humidity high. I just looked in there and OMG.... mold is growing on everything...eeeks. The orchids are still alive but they need immediate orchid er attention! I'm not sure what to do or exactly where she went wrong on this experiment that has now become a petri dish for mold! I think she kept humidity too high. I'll go get a picture of what is going on and see if any of you orchidmanitarians have any good ideas on how to fix this and get her on the right path again.

I'm thinking of using cinnamon..... I have some physan but I'm worried that is too much for these little roots. Should we totally remount them or just treat what we have? Anyone have any ideas of what humidity should have been??? I think she kept it in the 90's with the idea that they would grow best in the same humidity as the flask. I tried to tell her yesterday that I thought we should probably bring the humidity down but this is a VERY smart kid that was sure she was right. What the heck am I going to do with 97 ghost orchid corms that are engulfed by mold white mold???? Please help!!!

I have done quite a few , seedlings , not Ghost tho . I use the Physan dilute when I deflask , I would mix it per Inst. for seedlings and spray the whole thing , I don't think it will hurt them . I have read they do not like a lot of air movement but that is when they are outside they must get some naturally .
Do you have a lid on the tank ? if so I would remove it to air it out . What is the humidity in the tank ? Sending you a private message , if I can . Gin
