the last one is awesome....i need to grab the photo and check it against the local nurseries....
Beautiful flowers, but the 3rd one was just breath taking, its going on my most wanted lol. Great pictures
The arachnorchis is awesome!!! How big is the bloom?
about 5 cm long and 2-3 wide. Oh and the third, i highly doubt you would find it at a nursery, simply due to the fact i crossed it last season (inadvertantly) and you are 100 % guaranteed NOT to find any arachnorchis species in any nursery of any type
oh and dont ask me where the hell the pink came from either
here are some others....
This is my Earina Autumnalis a few weeks aago-it has a lovely creamy fragrance, similar to osmoglossum pulchellum....
This is the earina mucronata i took a pic of at Mt Maungatautari ecological reserve last year...
And the next two are my favorites among the NZ epiphytes....
Winika cunninghamii, or the ladies slipper orchid. very shy flowering in cultivation however.
the 'Winika' a maori word meaning itself, 'little orchid', of which winika is the genus name. the Tainui tribe Waka is named after the orchids genus name.
