Yes Mazlan, the long wait was not in vain at all. In fact i've stopped consciously waiting for this one. LOL. It just sat there on the tree trunk all these years. In fact I didn't even notice the long flower spike with its fat buds until the first two blooms had already opened.
The second spike is in full bloom already. The leaves in the background belong to the pteroceras unguiculatum which is planted about 1 foot below this cymbidium. The pteroceras is also in bloom right now, its buds can be seen in the photo. The spike is more than two feet long, reaching the thorny euphorbias planted at the foot of the tree.
The first spike is still in bloom. Now I got two long spikes. Big consolation for all those years of waiting. Can't quite figure out the scent though, probably due to the Dendrobium crumenatum and the Pteroceras unguiculatum, both with strong scents, which are planted on the same tree. All are in bloom now.

I forgot to say that your finlaysonnianum is a very attractive clone. I like the lighter, brighter color on this one - most of the ones I see here have a darker burgundy overlay.
Again, thank you Yew Sung. In fact, my aunt who visited me last week said that she had one many years ago but it was much darker, "redder" than this one. And I recall seeing one in Davao, another city in the Philippines, in 2006. The flowers were smaller and almost brown. I wasn't attracted to it that much. I thought mine would have brown flowers too. That's why this bright yellow is a pleasant surprise for me.Quote:
