    Default Hofmeisterella eumicroscopica

Miniature species from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela (1600-2600m.) The flowers are about 2.5cm long. Plant size 5-6cm. I/C grower. Bright light, strong air movement, constant high humidity and good quality water (RO- or rainwater) is essential to keep this species happy. It's also important to let the plant dry out slightly between waterings.

A pleurothallid, I suppose. A fascinating part of the orchid world.
I did have one small greenhouse all masdevallias and allies, many years ago, but my wife was rather critical of "flowers where I need to carry a magnifying glass" - and there are so many other orchids to grow which I like, and which she also liked, so I rather gave them up - actually, that was the start of my love affair with big vandas - I turned thst greenhouse into my first all vanda house. From the sublime to the ridiculous, you might say .

    That's an awesome flower.
Looks a little bit like an eyeball with fake eyelashes.
