I thought that global warming was supposed to be a gradual effect...
Such a bizzarre winter.

This is a discussion on Phal. Luchia Lady still flowering ..ice strom within the Orchids of Other Genera IN BLOOM forums, part of the Orchid Photography category; ...
Phalaenopsis Luchia Lady x Crystal Harmony, still have a few Phal’s with flowers but they are dropping fast, after 12 days with out Power here in south west Missouri, yes 12 days,… the buds on the Phal that were not open blasted, very quickly, the flowers are dropping one or 2 a day now on all of my Phal’s.
Now this maybe from lack of light, the drop in temps, the fumes from cooking on a camp stove inside ones house, the smoke from all them candles.. But the plants will be ok and there is always next year.
The Den, Cattleya, and some of the other orchid plants that have flowers or buds seam to all be ok... just the Phal’s flowers and buds seam to of got hit hard.
I will never take power for granted any more.
some photos of the ice too

excellent photographs! Sorry about the lost blooms
Beautiful Photogoraphy of a gorgeous orchid. I am so sorry for your phal losses. Next year seems so far away. Buy yourself a new one in bloom.
