"the Winged Encyclia" It is a hot to warm growing species, although I grow mine intermediate. The spike is close to 3 feet long this year, branched with many flowers that have a sweet honey fragrance. It is found from Mexico through Costa Rica occurring at altitudes of 0-1000 meters, most usually as an epiphyte.

I've just fallen in love with another encyclia!
I do love my encyclias--I am eager for my small alata to bloom. Do they have to be big plants to bloom? Mine has about 6 marble-sized pbulbs.
Lovely!
I sure do like the encyclias, wish they seemed to like me more! They don't die, but they don't really grow (aka live) either. LOL
Oh well.
