    Very tricky species though you can see the sheath at the crown but it doesn't promise you with the spike. Just realized 2 days ago.

    How long have you been growing it? They have a reputation for being very slow growers....

    More than a year and I agree with you very slow growing but once already established almost every year bloomed without fail.
