Paphio acmodontum

    Default Paphio acmodontum

    Got the division, last December I saw low bud and I noticed it's very slow growing as compared to other's paph like concolor, barbatum, sanderianum and so on. Any thought why so slow again the same thing happen to paph hennisianum soooo slow So weird.

    It seems to me that they are all very slow to open, takes weeks! A beauty Zain!

    The size of the plant will dictate the speed of the spike Zain. Please post a close up front on of the flower when it fully opens please..
    Did you see the plant in flower before you bought this division ??

    Thank Roy for the info I will do it later. When the plant arrived there no old flower spike but 3 keikies arising from the mother plant. I felt weird as the flower so different from common acmodontum especially the pouch.

    Given the rate of new paph species in past 4 months, this could very well be a new species....Paph zainalanum :-)

    You've picked it in one Zain, the petals are a big question with me, even now they don't appear to have the right shape at the ends. I used to grow it and have seen a number of them, that's why I asked for another pic fully open.
