    Why do you say you can't grow them, Tim? I can grow them, sure you can grow them too . Mine is also in bloom and it got 3 spikes. It stays outside in summer but it has to come indoors in winter.

    unfortunately, even when I bring them indoors in winter... the cold still somehow gets them... lost one recently to the cold... it just went black overnight

    Hmmm.....they should be fine indoors, although the spike will die off during winter, the plant go semi dormant but fine.
    You didn't watered it with cold water, did you? I use "lukewarm" water.
