where to start (over)
Hi again. I bought another phal after my other one up and "retired" (I put that one in another room and will leave it there to see if the roots grow a new plant). I bought the new one from a hardware store nursery and it was planted in potting soil! The roots were 50% rotted. I put it in a clay pot with holes and filled it with phalinopsis bark/medium soaked until moist. Do I keep it in low light and let it rest and recover? Do I feed it right away? How do I jump start a disadvantaged plant? I'm a sucker for sick plants. I've done miracles with some houseplants but I'm a novice with orchids.
Thanks

Hi pd!
Glad to hear you got another Phalaenopsis orchid plant. We will have to get you to get a healthy one before long. :) If you haven't done so, please see this article in our library. Growing the Phalaenopsis Orchid It should get you on the right track.
Cheers,
BD :D

Good luck with the new one...let us know if you have any problems...phals are my favorites to grow. Little work and months of enjoyment when they are in bloom.
