I would be interested to know. I have one in Bark, and it is doing very well. But if Oncies like it in S/H, I'm all for it after this blooming season.

Fairly new to orchids.
Just got a 'Sharry Baby' in spike. It was in soaking wet bark that was pretty well broken down and the roots were starting to brown.
I re-potted in soaked lava rock (all I had) and am letting it dry out.
Question...should I put it in bark or try s/h...do oncidiums do well in s/h?
Thanks for any help.
It sure does smell delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine is in bark , might be ok in s/h only thing is the pellets dry out on the top , Sharries new leaves will wrinkle if they are to short to reach the moisture . Gin
I bet it would do well in SH. Why not give it a shot!
Cheers,

Gin, Is that why my new leaves look like accordians!! I was wondering why that was. Its new growths have their roots out of the media and I just left them that way. WHat should I do? I hope this is not a thread hijack.
Is yours in s/h tindo? if not then add more mix , Or add a little Spag. on the top . Gin
I'll go with the sphag. The new growths are basically over the edge of the pot, so more mix wont help. Thanks!!
Oh, its not on S/H.
