Wow! That's a gorgeous color!
Now this is the one which is strictly not a cattleya ; the only cattleya ( I still use the word, in fact cannot think of the "correct" genus name just now ) which has the rhizome buried on the compost, with new shoots emerging through it. All the rest develop the rhizome on top, and if buried, you can lose new growths. Sufficient difference to justify the generic difference I think. I'm sure the botanists at Kew etc will be glad to have my confirmation ( joke).
Now that is beautiful Zain!
I am to the point that I am thinking of not posting the name that is on a tag any longer, someone always comes up with a different name for it and at this point it has gotten so confusing that it is not worth it any longer. God help us if they finally decide to take care of all these issues it will be a disaster with what they come up with.
I would be okay with that mix-up too, Zain. Lovely Cattleya bowringiana!!
cheers,
BD
Thanks Jack really appreciate it , I agree with you very confusing and difficult to accept it and after many years our thought already fixed suddenly made a change.....and I have to accept with the evidence base by comparing the photos which is available in the internet, issue now if not matched ....hm sometimes hopeless.... but still ok to me at the end of the day.
