Nice wallisii! I think that while clones vary with regards to the amount of pink or tan on the pouch, some of it may be due to lighting, flash, etc.

Oh right, yeah - thanks for that reminder! Got to keep my eye on the prize! lol.
Yeah, I still like the warsce. better, but at least I'm keeping an open mind. Yeah, I didn't think you'd be able to tell the difference, but what the heck, I thought it was a nice pic anyway.

You have to quit posting pictures peter!! You are making my wish list much too long. Seriously though...thanks for posting such great pictures as always. I believe that you might be responsible for turinging me into a species nut like yourself. After seeing all of yuor beautiful species, who needs hybrids!
stomps foot.
I *like* hybrids!
LOL!
Thanks, nc! Yes, I really prefer the species but I do like some hybrids also and they have to be just right and perfect for my tastes.
Bumping it up for Super Paphgirl.
Heather, here is another pic of my wallisii. I don't see any spots inside the pouches, just around the rim but maybe on the bottom, don't remember, sorry!
I'll check and see if I have another better close up of the flower and post it here for you.
No, I don't see any either, except those on the rim - maybe it varies depending on the clone too? thanks Pete!
I am almost certain that there are light brown spots peppered all throughout the interior of the pouch. They are lighter in color than the ones on the rim, not nearly as dense, and individually they are much larger. If I recall, most photos taken from the front will not visualize them because 1. they are a light tan in color, and 2. the inrolled porcelain white part of the pouch hides them. If one looks into the pouch though, I am 99% sure they are there. In fact, if you look at that close-up of that wallisii photo I posted, you can see very faint speckling that shows through to the outside of the pouch--those are the interior spots.
Jason, I found another close up pic of my wallisii and YES, you're right! There are spots closer to the bottom and the spots can also be seen right through the pouches.Originally Posted by Jmoney
I guess that's another reason for her to get one--can't blame it on the lack of spots.
