Hi Carrie,
No winter rest required - at least we do not give ours one. It is treated the same year round here. It sounds like your dend is growing a new growth. You didn't do anything wrong. New growth is good!! Give it time and patience. Increase light levels slowly to avoid burn. Dends require pretty high light levels to bloom. Best of luck!
Cheers,
BD
LOL. Ron, we must have been posting at the same time. I understand some require a winter rest, but the way we grow ours in a smallish greenhouse mixed with plants that do not require that rest period, they all get the same basic treatment. My plant blooms every year. I rarely get any keikies from it, but if I do, I will grow one for you.
Cheers,
BD
Very Nice, BD.
Thank you, Thank you both, that is good news then I thought I was doing something terribly wrong, I wonder if I need to move it up a level to get more light, though i suspect you might be right it might be too small to flower though why then has it thrown out the top keiki as well as a new growth. The pot it is in is what it came in and I believe it is too big for it but I do not have a smaller one so have left it alone. The roots on the upper keiki are growing well, I just dont want it taking too much out of the mother plant.
