    Default A Keeper

So this week the hubby was in Orlando on business. Before he left, I had given him the name and phone number of an orchid greenhouse close to his convention--just as as subtle hint--although I didn't think he'd actually be able to go. So imagine my surprise when he carried in a big bag-o-orchids! I hadn't even specified a genera--and look what he brought home...

    He also bought
    V. Pachara Delight (middle) and
    V. Robert's Delight 'Garnet Beauty' (on the left)

Bouth are in spike, but haven't bloomed yet. I expect they'll be phenomenal. For someone who only knows about orchids generally, I'd say he selected three pretty incredible plants.

Are you going to grow them indoors like that? If so, how do you water them? in the shower? lol I'd be in trouble with monsters like that, i'd be begging for a watering system.

Connie -- my greenhouse is arriving in the next week or so. I wouldn't be growing mosters like these guys if it weren't coming--so at least a hose is in their very near future.

Until then, I suppose I'll water them in the shower. I don't think it is really feasible for me to grow them in the house long-term--although there are some members who seem to do it very successfully.
