Default A Gecko on my Aerides

I was out talking to the mailman on the porch and noticed one of my Vanda types had a gecko busily checking out the flower buds. At first I couldn't see what it was doing and when I tried to get close I spooked it. Finally, I got my camera and doing my best 'statue' imitation got a few shots of it licking the orchid honey off the buds. As the books say, Gecko's are a orchids best friend, but obviously there is something in it for the geckos. I can't blame them as I like the taste of the stuff myself.

He's a cutie. We have Turkish geckos around here and they fascinate me.

Brilliant shots Connie. But what you have isn't a gecko tho, it's a Brown Anole Anolis sagrei I have kept and bred these little critters. They'll do a excellent job of keeping bugs off your 'chids

My husband is having fun with the 'Anole' name....can I just call it a gecko?? lol Thanks all, I'm just as fascinated with them as everyone else. They are fun to watch have mini battles hissing like they are a huge Godzilla type or something. My favorites are the ones with the orange thing under their neck that goes back and forth.
