I think if it has bloomed that long without coraking, it doesn't have the will to die! I could see if it was putting out 10 flowers per spike, but if it is only 2-3, it isn't sucking the life out of the phal. JMHO.

I have a phal that has been in bloom(hold onto your seats!) 2 YEARS !!!!Originally Posted by orchidaddict789

I wait with moving my Dens. until they are in full bloom these days. I've had way too much budblast from them.
How was C & H, Gilda? I can't make it this year.
C&H was good..they had some things an extra 25% off ,plus your other discount ,so that was a good deal. Had some huge paph lienianum x roths at that special. Decided I didn't want to give up my bench space for that.Originally Posted by dosal
Not a whole lot in bloom at this time though. Can you believe I didn't buy one thing ? Gene Crocker is our speaker for Sept. and he will bring with him any orchid you order...plus give you a discount.....may go that route.
I did get to meet Momokev(Lisa)...and lived vicariously through her buying ! Now how many did you come home with Lisa ? It was a fun day !
I gave 19 poor little orphan orchids a home. I don't have the self restaint you do!

I am glad both of you had a good time. I keep saying I don't need any more orchids, but if I come across a good deal I find it hard to resist. It's best to stay away completely. I have a lot of seedlings from C & H that haven't bloomed yet. That is first on my agenda - to bloom these before getting others or more.
Are their "dug-ups" divisions of plants?Originally Posted by momokev
I'm completely powerless when it comes to buying almost any type of flowering plant. And just as one of you said, if there is a good deal, I can't resist; especially orchids!
I think I'm getting some bud blast; at least i'm assuming it's that because one is blooming, but 3 of them are getting wrinkly and discolored. Boo. There are still eight healthy looking ones, luckily. I hope they make it. What are some other causes of bud blast?
This den has lasted about 2 weeks so far. I WISH it would last two years. that would be the ideal situation!:lemmetell
Traci, dug ups are plants out of compots that haven't been potted up individually. They often have so many that they sell them a bit cheaper. Also they save on having to pot them up. The latter also applies to the 'too big for their britches'
Lol, Cattlover, you would get mighty tired of two years looking at the same flowers. You might as well get silk flowers in that case.
I also found another blasted bud on a Dendro and this one has stayed in the greenhouse the whole time. Gas is sometimes a problem with blasting, but I don't have any on in there, maybe and insect? Haven't seen any though.
Thanks for the explanation!Originally Posted by dosal
