Default HPS system is up & running.

Well my HPS light systen(400w) is about set up.It needs a little tweaking but i,m very happy with the amount of useable light .The room is 6' wide & i,m getting 1000 fc @ the edges of the staging & about 1750 fc @ the brightest parts. This is with the HPS light & reflector as high as i can get it.
I,ll lower it down when the plants have got used to the higher/longer light.
    Note piccie is 150kb.

The light is nowhere near as red as what it,s come out on the piccie , just a slight tint of red.

Great setup! You are going to be amazed from the reaction of your plants to the additional lighting. My plants took off as soon as I placed them under the lights. It seemed that everything began putting on new roots, leaves and in many cases new growths. Good luck with the setup. I know you and your orchids will love it!

Default What distance is your light away from the plants?

Also, have you measured your temps? What dimensions are your growing space? Maybe I missed this in another post, I'll go search. Looks really good! I might build something light that in my basement. Thanks for sharing!

    Room is about 6" x 6"(slightly bigger).

    Temps for days max so far is 28c & 20c @ night(about 20c ambient).
I lowered the lights a little & now the max fc is about 2500 fc.
Air movement is pretty strong & the door is left open fairly wide ,
i want high fc but lowish temps.2 of my 3 Phrag seedlings are getting white lines on the edges of the leaves so i,ve moved them out of the stronger light for now.
My Den Kingianum is getting purplish leaves(which is good) & my Phrag SA is growing like a weed(it gets the full 2500fc).
