Dendrobium done - now what?

My dendrobium just finished flowering and the last withered flower has fallen. What should I do next? Cut off the spike? There's a keiki, as well. Should I split it and repot or should I leave it together? I saw some nice images of dendrobiums with many many canes in the same pot. I'm a novice so please be gentle! Thanks for your help.

when i swiped my mum's keiki i let it get a bunch of good long roots first, that was a phal but i imagine the same applies to dens. i wouldn't be in any rush, let it get as big as you want, as long as the mummy plant is healthy it won't hurt either.

What Grumpy said above is right on. Be patient and let it grow nice big roots before you take it off. And with Dens, if the new growth is at the bottom, leave it on....at the top or middle, wait till it's good sized enough and remove with a nice sharp razor blade that is sterile. Cinnamon is an all purpose cut healer, dust the spot where you cut the keikei off with it.
