    Unhappy A virus?

I received this Epidendrum floribundum recently. It was potted in sphagnum and was very wet. The sphagnum never seemed to dry out. So I just transfered it to SH.
The problem is that there are black spots on many of the leaves. I think maybe a virus but I've only been at this for 4-5 months. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it is time to spray with some fungicide, try Physan or Safers if you can 't find Physan.

I agree with Diane. Those are telltale signs of a fungal attack, not a virus.

Thanks. I was looking at some images after I posted and thought it might be fungal. I appreciate your help.

Yes, probably fungal. Good luck, this one produces beautiful blooms!

Should I do any cutting or will the physan take care of everything?

Let the physan do it's thing first. If the infection stops, then cut out any really big areas. Otherwise, leave it be. It looks ugly, but you need the leaves for food.

Is this the same thing or is it something else I should be worried about. It's an isolated incident and none of the other plants close to it show these kind of spots?

I have the same problem with my Dendrobium and Brassia plant. I've isolated them but I'm still a little freaked.
