    Isn't it amazing? I really think the article is titled incorrectly, though. That orchid has been at Corkscrew for a long time. It took hurricane Wilma to blow down the trees that were blocking it from view! That is a spectacular specimen, and hopefully it's location will deter poachers.

    We are heading down there next Thurs to take a look. I think the fact that it is 45 feet up in tree should deter a couple of people. I will get you some pics Tami.

    funny article.."the orchid is in the same spot as last year" I would be really worried if it had changed spots, LOL. We all want pics!!

    That's just awsome, Cin! Wish we could go with you this trip. You will love Corkscrew! Get the guides to point out some of the other orchids - some are hard to spot on your own. The huge cowhorn orchid is near the top of a palm tree but you have to look back up at it after you go by the tree, so many people miss it. Looking forward to seeing your pics!!
