Default I haven't painted in *YEARS*

But tonight I whipped out this. PeteMc had done a graphic with this flower. I graphed it and drew it on a larger scale(poster size). I then pained it. I think I did a pretty good job. Now I need to figure out what to do with the background...

Nice Work, Traci! I love painting. I teach my StageCraft class the grid technique and they do awesome paintings each semester. I need to get my watercolors out and do some more.

    Cheers!

    Looks very good.

Now I need to figure out what to do with the background...
Different shades of blue , posiibly lighter @ the edges , shading into to darker(royal blue) in the center.

Thanks, it is the only way I can draw proportions (sp?) correctly. I never did well in my art classes, I'm the type of person who had to be about to finish what I start , even if it taken a whole day of doing nothing else. If I stop, I lose the mode.

Thanks, you are probably right. I think it would really make the flower pop out.

sometimes i ask myself the 'where when what" kind of questions about things, see where that takes me, and the image.

yay painting...never have been much good at watercolor though, more the thick heavy oil impasto thing...great to see folks playing, thanks for posting.

I totally missed this one--love the flower on it! Pete did a graphic the image came from? (Sorry--confused here...) Pete, are you a graphic artist?

the short answer is no, but i make things.

BFA sculpture/printmaking, painting.....several years ago learned some image software, then the dotcom bubble burst....currently in the trades, have made all kinds of things from tattoo designs to furniture, 3d animation, cedar baskets for my Stans... as has been mentioned before cooked for a long time...anything to support the art habit, and now the orchid habit. eventually, if i don't kill them all off, i'll try a little hybridizing....

sorry to poach the thread like this. i do hope you get the tatt, traci, and keep painting!

    pMc
