Default Stromboli - Sausage and pepper

Saute pepper, onion and garlic until soft
add cooked sausage and fry a few more minutes
Spread the the above evenly onto dough, leaving 3 edges about 1" without filling. Sprinkle cheese over the mixture
roll like you would a jelly roll.
    seal the edges
place onto a greased cookie pan and let dough rise for 15 min.
place in oven and bake at 350 until the top is lightly browned..about 1/2 hour.
Remove from pan, allow to slightly cool and slice and serve.

I have heard this also called sausage bread, or garbage bread

You can alter fillings to your liking
try ham, provolone, chilies and black olives or any favorite combo as a filling. I also do a mozzarella, sun dried tomato, pepperoni filling. The combos are unlimited...this can also be done without meat.

Nice post, ron. I like spicy food & love cheese, so I bet I will like this.

    Cheers,

this with a salad was tonight's dinner. If you like spicy then the hot sausage is in order instead of sweet
I don't have a recipe for this, so I guesstimated what I used.

I am planning a pesto, shrimp, cheese one for next time

Oh yeah, I would make that change anyway! I think I burned my taste buds off a long time ago. I love hot and spicy foods with lots of flavor! I may drink a gallon of water while eating, but it is so worth it.

    Cheers,
    BD
