That really looks great! Your plants clearly like their summer spa retreat! Just out of curiosity--where do the PEOPLE go when you have a BBQ? Just kidding--who needs a backyard full of people!

Nice setup! Man, I would kill for a porch. So, is the open side open to the east, and the shaded side is to the west?

Yes the open side is to the NE and the shade cloth is to the SW. But this get changed frequently during the day as the orientation of the sun changes. Thus the wheels on the cart

That is a nice setup and beautiful plants! Do you move those indoors in the winter months or is it warm enough year round to stay outside?

I have FINALLY convinced my husband that I should have an orchid growing area! After getting a couple of estimates we are going to extend our porch 10' x 6' specifically for orchids. The entire area will be aluminum with a sunshade cover. This will be on the NE side of our house. I sure hope this works out - I am so excited!!!

Yes Michele, I have to move them inside during the winter as we do get frost here. We also put an extension on the house for the orchids. Check out the link below

Ischel - Thanks for sharing the link. Nice setups you have, inside & out.

As I said yesterday, we are going to add a 10 x 6 area to our porch for orchids. It's not a big space, but it's a start! We get little frost here so I don't worry too much about that.
