Back to serious for a sec... forward scam e-mails to the FTC. Sometimes I send a note back to the scammers saying I did so, but not often - don't want to warn them!

A sexy Venis Flytrap would be my action orchid hero choice. Maybe with a gulping pitcher or slurping bladderwort for a side kick. Let's get the story started!

There are a number of good reporting sites. Besides the FTC, the DOJ.gov site is always updating their internet pages and then there is the local level, which most people don't think of, but really, no one goes online to scam just one person. If I got this, then of course at least a few hundred others did, too.

When scammers can be identified down to the state or county out of which they are operating, they can be reported, even if it is a bogus location. If it appears in their business domain then they are claiming it. Nowadays the local level of law enforcement has all kinds of money they have been spending on training "cybersleuths" so they are happy to receive a complaint that they can use to prosecute a successful case. Then they get to argue for an increase in their budget. It's win-win for the good guys, lose-lose for the scammers!

LOL. This reminded me of our Orchid Soap Opera : An Orchid's Tale...

    Cheers,
