Default Another experiment (related to the "Orchid Detox" experiment)

This experiment is a supplement to the Orchid Detox experiment that I have outlined on this thread: Orchid Detox

I have in my greenhouse a tray of 15 papaya seedlings that just recently sprouted.

This tray is made up of 3 different papaya hybrids, 5 pots per hybrid.
After a couple of weeks, I will be selecting the 4 most robust growths from each hybrid group and will place them under the opposite experimental conditions of "Orchid Detox".

    1. I will be setting up 4 groups.
    2. Each group will contain 3 pots, one representative from each hybrid.
    3. Group 1: Control group - just fertilizer.
    4. Group 2: Fertilizer + Superthrive (as per label dosage recommendations)
    5. Group 3: Fertilizer + Sea Weed Extract (as per label dosage recommendations)
    6. Group 4: Fertilizer + Superthrive + Sea Weed Extract (as per label dosage recommendations).

I am aware that these are not orchids, but this is the only set of plants I have with sufficient quantity to set up proper experimental groups.
But it would still be interesting to see how each group responds to the different feeding regimen.

You are going to end up with lots of papayas, John! Good luck with the experiment and please keep us posted!

    Cheers,

John -- you and I must be on the same wavelength. I am actually preparing a bunch of phal seedling compots for a similar experiment. Good luck with you papayas.

Looks like this experiment will be delayed a bit. Some grasshoppers feasted on half of the young papaya leaves.
I'm not sure if they will make it lol.

I'll wait a little bit and find out which ones make it and determine if it is a big enough sampling to do a worthwhile experiment.
