    Default Mini phal in trouble?

I have a mini phal (equestris) that I bought online last winter and it bloomed all through winter and spring, requiring little wter or other care. It was one of my most beautiful orchids. After it was through blooming, it became dormant, and I would not worry about it except that the leaves are very wilted (though deep green, not yellow.) Still, they used to be fleshier and firmer. The roots appear healthy and I don't think the plant is dead.

Can I do anything to make the plant healthier, or is the best thing just to leave it alone?

it wilted because you didn't water it for a long time. You need to do now is mist the root and put it in a zip lock bag and hopefully it come back. watch out for rot.

As suggested, maybe the sphag and bag will work but be careful of too much moisture and rot. You might want to dust the roots with an anti-fungal powder????

Yes, it appears to not be getting enough water and has shriveled. As suggested, increase the humidity but be wary of rot. It will take some time to grow new leaves. Good luck.

Those smaller species phals often need some spagnum chopped into their bark mix for a little extra moisture. I put one of my Violecia into pure spag. and it took off and grew monster roots the size for a normal phal. I agree with above, it looks shriveled from too little water.

    Hi ,
Be ready to wait months & months before it gets back to 'normal'
My Equestris leaves looked the same when I came back off my holiday...(although mine didnt have any roots left- they had been over watered and had rotted) I put it in spag & bag in January ( after soaking it in KLN) since then the leaves firmed up a bit - but I know they will never be as before....it's also grown new leaves & is finally growing roots at last ! that's 8 months she's been in OIC (Orchid Intensive Care)
Good Luck & Keep us posted
