    To say common is not really I had seen once but the bug is biggest than this in the magazine. I meet this insect actually by chance when they parked on the sphg. moss probably to drink or enjoy the cool area. The design basically more or less the same got eye ,nose and mouth.

    there are quite a few beetles as well as other creatures with face designs. Here is a pic of a Skull Crab Spider



    And a samurai beetle



    here is a very happy spider
    (I love Google, LOL.)

    many Butterflies have large eye spots on their wings to help scare away predators
