Default build my self a new terrarium :)

    Hi guys,

Just thought I'd popback in again, I still follow manyof the threads, just haven't been very active posting lately.. I hope I'll get more free time soon!

    Well..!

Today after 1½ months of work I finally finished building my new terrarium! I did it all from scratch and what a struggle :P

It measures 95 x 50 x 50 cm, and the background is made by hand from PU foam, covered using a mix of coconut humus, potting soil and a rubber-ish resin called Alfix Flexbinder(Also known as Flevepol or Sika in other coundtries than Denmark ).
The light fixture is made up of 21 highpower LEDs 14 white (3 watts) and 7 red and blue (1 watts). They are mounted directy on the top of the terrarium which I made from aluminium as a heat sink

I just hooked up eferything to day and moved the plants in from my old terrarium.. Can't wait for them to get established and hopefully I will get som moss growing to.

    I hope you like it

    Wow that is beautiful.

Perhaps a tiny waterfall would complete the scenery? or would that cause damage to the background material?

Thank You all for the kind words I'll be sure to post some updates when things start to happen inthere

Wetfeet: Actually there is a small waterfall, I just have to figure out how and when to have it turned on, since the pump driving it is very loud

Rich: Yes, during the last year I've experimented ALOT with LEDs both highpower ones (combinations of ccol white and 640nm red light) and 5mm LEDs (in combinations of cool white, 660 nm reds and 430nm blues). The last experiment actually paid off! I did a test on two seedlings of Onc. harrisonianum, one got the light and one didn't - and would you belive it? the one under lights is now blooming and it only has three growths, the other one just started a new growth. Ofcourse this result is not valid in any way, but it sure sparked my interest, since it was done purely with 5mm LEDs (which people btw. told my would not work ).
